1. Mine Office Marker

Inscription. The Burra Burra mine office was built around 1905, with additions in 1944 and 1967. The building served as surface headquarters for the mine and geology departments of Tennessee Copper Company and its successors; the geology staff worked in the basement, and the mine staff occupied the first floor. The mine office was in continuous use until 1975, when the mine and geology staffs were transferred to a new building located at Cherokee Mine. Since 1982, the building has served as the main display area of the Ducktown Basin Museum.
