1. Fire Hose Building Marker

Inscription. The mining company had its own firefighting gear and hydrants, which were sited at strategic points on the property. This block building replaced the earlier from structure, originally located s short distance away, that can be seen at the center of the photograph. The small structures housed the fire hose for the mine office and the managerial homes on Burra Hill. (The staff hose, which stood where the group of trees currently stands, provided lodging for unmarried engineers and for university students working as co-op employees.
