1. Ewing-Bordeaux Cottage Marker
Inscription. Property purchased in 1923 by Mrs. Allen Cora Ewing for $550.00. Cottage was one of six of the northern extension to survive the Great Fire of 1934.

. Along the eastern shore of North Carolina, Wolfe House Movers relocated a small historic house for the Town of Wrightsville Beach. The house is a single story, unassuming structure known as the Ewing-Bordeaux Cottage. With images from the 2018 move. 2. The Great Fire. In January 1934 the cold of the off-season Wrightsville Beach was quiet most of its private cottages and boarding houses empty. The island was waiting for summer when visitors would come in droves to enjoy the beach dance at Lumina and shop at Newells. On Sunday January 28 however the peaceful sleepy winter was shattered by The Great Fire. 2. Ewing-Bordeaux Cottage Marker
As of September 2024 it is being used by the Harbor Island Garden Club. The Wrightsville Beach Museum of History, which moved the cottage from its original site in 2018, previously used it for exhibit space.
