1. DeVaun-Dyer House Marker

Inscription. Neoclassical Revival style house built for Alice Bertha DeVaun (1882-1961), native of Southport, school teacher and later a clerk at the Atlantic Coast Line Rrailroad. Purchased in 1919 by William Henry Dyer (1867-1932), native of Virginia, photographer and owner of Little Billie Kodak Finishing; and wife, Effie Blanche Jenkins (1865-1924). The house remained in the Dyer family for 50 years.
