1. Fort Fisher Army Air Base Hutment Marker

Inscription. Constructed to house personnel at the air base. Purchased in 1946 along with the adjacent hutments by Warren Bros. Inc. and moved to the current location where it became a rental property. Sold in 1964 to Joseph John Gialy (1911-1988), native of Elko, Nevada, World War II veteran and employee at Ft. Bragg; and wife Orah Marie Beard (1922-2004). She was recognized for 21 years of volunteer service in Carolina Beach and Wilmington. The property remained in the family for forty years. The cottage was raised and renovated in 2010.
