1. Sallie Allen House Marker
Inscription. Neoclassical Revival bungalow built as rental property for Sallie Sholar Allen (1865-1929). Purchased in 1926 by Walter W. Way (1873-1936), heating and plumbing contractor; and wife, Juliet Orrell (1879-1967). Owned and occupied from 1950 to 1963 by Matthew Guthrie (1903-1977), native of Morehead City, fleet worker with the reserve fleet; and wife, Alma Louise Pridgen (1908-2001), saleswoman at Friendly Department Store.
