Vom 4. August bis zum 2. Oktober 1986 lebte der argentinische Jesuit und Priester Jorge Mario Bergoglio als Student am Goethe-Institut in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, um hier während eines Studienaufenthaltes Deutsch zu lernen. Am 13. März 2013 wurde er zum Papst gewählt; er trägt den Namen Franziskus.

Argentinian Jesuit and priest Jorge Mario Bergoglio stayed at the Goethe Institute in Rothenburg August 4 through October 2, 1986, to study German. On March 13, 2013, he was elected Pope and chose the name of Francis.
