1. Burriss-Meier House Marker
Inscription. Late Greek Revival style cottage apparently in existence c. 1863. That year, Phineas W. Fanning (1799-1880) sold the house to Thomas Edward Burriss (1838-c.1867), river pilot, and wife, Sarah Ann Wells (1839-1912), seamstress. Acquired through marriage in 1926 by Francis L. Meier family, which retained ownership until 1975.
