38TH PARALLEL - The dividing line between North and South Korea.
CHOSIN RESERVOIR - Marine and Army Forces begin a 13 day, 78 mile withdrawal to the port city of Hungnam. Over 105,000 Troops and 91,000 Civilians were evacuated by the U.S. Navy.
INCHON HARBOR - Where General McArthur landed Marines to cut off retreating Chinese forces and retake Seoul, the South Korean capital
PUSAN - Port city in South Korea. The last American stronghold for U.S. Forces before the buildup of U.N. Troops.
PYONGYANG - Over 100 U.S. prisoners were massacred by the Chinese, Most were captured at the Pusan perimeter.
HELL FIRE VALLEY - British Commandos, U.S. Marines and Soldiers surrendered after being ambushed and surrounded.
TREADWAY BRIDGE Main supply line bridge blown up by Chinese. Treadway Bridge was dropped by air and installed by Army Engineers allowing withdrawal to continue.
KIMPO AIR BASE - Air Force base used by F-86 Sabres and supply planes for U.S. troops.
MIG ALLEY - Territory over Korea and China where first jet plane combat took place between F-86 Sabres and Russian built MIG-15. Some were flown by Russian pilots.
PANMUNJOM VILLAGE - Site of the truce talks which lasted more than two years. Prisoners wishing to return home were released.
This conflict saw the beginning of jet fighters in combat, helicopters for troop and medical support, and the Mobile Army Surgical Hospital or MASH.
