Emmitsburg in Frederick County, Maryland — The American Northeast (Mid-Atlantic)
Chronicle Press
Before the early 1920s, the newspaper was a primary source Americans had to get their news. In smaller communities, newspapers were often published by locally-owned commercial print shops. This was the case with the Emmitsburg Chronicle, published by Chronicle Press.
From its pages, people learned state and national news, as well as happenings involving community residents. Although the Emmitsburg Chronicle ceased publication in the mid-1970s, Chronicle Press continued on with its commercial printing operations.
