1. Gore-Johnson House Marker
Inscription. Italianate style house built as investment property for William Iredell Gore (1829-1903), native of Little River, SC, commission merchant of Messrs. W.I. Gore, Son & Co.; and wife, Rachel Ann Litchfield (1833-1914), native of Beaufort, SC. Purchased in 1961 for rental purpose by Ransom Johnson (1912-1988); and spouse Mary Phebe Boney (1911-1976), natives of Duplin County, NC. The house remained in the family for fifty-seven years.
