1. Hanby House & Store Marker
Inscription. Italianate style house and grocery store built for Joseph H. Hanby (1843-1905), grocer, native of Virginia; and wife, Adrienne K. Wilson (1848-1913). One of the city's few remaining “corner grocery store” buildings, it served the neighborhood from 1882 to 1950 and 1966 to 1994. One story entrance added in the 1920s.
