Inscription.
Danville is called the “City of Churches” because it is said to have more churches per square mile than any other City in Virginia. The number of churches brings a variety of denominations and diverse architectural styles, in evidence at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1878), Temple Beth Sholom (1893), and Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church (1884).
