1. Robertson House Marker
Inscription. These quarters are named in honor of Major General Jarrett Jackson Robertson (1940-1993), who served his country in numerous positions of great responsibility. Major General Robertson was distinguished cavalryman whose illustrious career included combat tours in Vietnam and Desert Shield/Desert Storm. His assignments at Fort Bliss included Commander, 2d Squadron, 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment from 1980-1982 and Commander and 62d Colonel of the 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment from 1987-1989. Major General Robertson's superb leadership selfless devotion to duty and total dedication to his soldiers and their families were an inspiration to all. Major General Robertson was killed in a tragic helicopter accident in 1993 while serving as Deputy Commanding General, Fifth US Corps. The Robertson House now serves as a lasting remembrance to his faithful service and houses distinguished visitors to Fort Bliss.
