1. Glameyer House Marker

Inscription. Italianate style house built for Henry A. Glameyer (1853-1886), grocer and liquor dealer; and wife, Beta Tietgen (1857-1952), natives of Germany. Their daughter, Wilhelmina Glameyer (1877-1923); and husband, J. Theodore Runge (1871-1929), also resided here. He was a pioneer telegraph operator for the News-Dispatch and Star newspapers, and for the Associated Press. Remained in family for sixty-nine years.
