Inscription. Commercial building constructed for George Ofiesh (1897-1929), native of Mouhaidee, Lebanon, dry goods merchant; and wife, Emily E. (1907-1997). Purchased in 1943 by Alex J. Compos (1908-1965), and wife, Polly Galanoudis (d. 1993), natives of Greece. Location of the Cape Fear Sandwich Shop (1941-1948), Royal Cafe (1948-1966), and Modern Office Machines (1970-1984).
