1. Vaandeluitreiking Landstormkorps / Flag presentation of the Landstorm Corps Marker
Op 5 september 1915 werd op de hier achtergelegen voormalige weide van Kasteel "Oost" een Koninklijk erkend vaandel uitgereikt aan kolonel Tielens, commandant van het Vrijwillig Landstormkorps Limburgsche Jagers.
Op initiatief van de heer Stockx, directeur Post- en Telegraafkantoor van Valkenburg werd een Vaandelcommissie opgericht. Deze commissie bracht gelden bijeen om dit vaandel als teken, van verbondenheid en saamhorigheid aan het Korps te kunnen aanbieden. De band met provincie en stad is gesymboliseerd door de wapenschilden van Limburg en van Valkenburg aan de Geul op het vaandel.
Het Korps behoorde tot de Nationale Landstorm, een militair vrijwilligersverband; gevond in augustus 1914 kort na het uitbreken van de WO I. Dit verband had tot doel steun te lever aan het wettig gezag. Deze taak is sinds 1948-overgenomen door het huidig Korps Nationale Reserve. De naam van het Landstormkorps leeft voort in het huidig Regiment Limburgse Jagers.
Dit Regiment heeft op 4 september 2015 met ondersteuning van de Stichting de Nationale Landstormcommissie als herinnering aan de bijzondere vaandeluitreiking deze plaquette angeboden aan de gemeente Valkenburg.

Flag presentation of the Limburg Rifles Landstorm Corps
On September 5, 1915, a Royally recognized banner was presented to Colonel Tielens, commander of the Limburg Rifles Volunteer Landstorm Corps, on the former meadow of Kasteel "Oost" behind here.
On the initiative of Mr. Stockx, director of the Post and Telegraph Office of Valkenburg, a Flag Committee was established. This committee raised funds to be able to offer this flag as a sign of solidarity and cohesion to the Corps. The bond with the province and city is symbolized by the coats of arms of Limburg and Valkenburg aan de Geul on the flag.
The Corps belonged to the Nationale Landstorm, a military volunteer organization; founded in August 1914 shortly after the outbreak of WWI. This organization aimed to provide support to the legal authorities. This task has been taken over by the current National Reserve Corps since 1948. The name of the Landstorm Corps lives on in the current Limburg Rifles Regiment.
On September 4, 2015, this Regiment, with the support of the National Landstorm Commission Foundation, presented this plaque to the municipality of Valkenburg as a memento of the special flag presentation.
