1. Fishblate-McQueen House Marker
Inscription. Italianate style house built for Solomon Harry Fishblate (1843-1910), native of New York City, Union veteran, merchant, and two-time mayor of Wilmington; and wife, Laura Otterbourg Toner (1846-1882), native of Bavaria. Purchased in 1883 by Henry Clay McQueen (1846-1935), native of Lumberton, NC, Confederate veteran, banker; and wife, Mary Agnes Hall (1846-1904). The house remained in the family for eighty-three years.
