Regarding Frank Alden House. Architect Frank E. Alden (1859-1908) arrived in Pittsburgh in 1884 to serve as supervising architect for the Allegheny County Courthouse and Jail. A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he built this home for his family. The Frank Alden House was designated a Pittsburgh Historic Landmark in 1995.
