1. Todd Building Marker

Inscription. Commercial building constructed for Leon McCoy Todd, Sr. (1896-1978), native of Columbus County, NC, owner of Todd Furniture Company; and wife, Kathryn Carroll (1887-1955), native of Tennessee. In 1942 they added a third floor and a three-story extension. They both worked in the store along with their son Leon McCoy Todd, Jr. (1924- ), Navy Air Corps officer during World War II. Since 1978 owned and occupied variously by a store, a bar and offices.
