1. Samuel Reaves House Marker
Inscription. Queen Anne style house built by William James Reaves (1861-1917), builder, president of W.J. Reaves Co., and vice-president of Wilmington Iron Works; and wife, Mary Elizabeth Shepard (1865-1914). Inherited in 1917 by son Samuel Franklin Reaves (1903-1956), WWI and WWII veteran, editor and publisher of periodicals, and legislative liaison officer for the Texas State Guard Reserve. Purchased in 1978 by Historic Wilmington Foundation as part of the second street urban restoration project.
