1. Andres/Rice/Funk Residence Marker

Inscription. This well preserved, two story Victorian frame home was built circa 1896 by Christian Andres (Sr.), a prominent businessman, developer, and banker. He was a leader in the incorporation of the Village of Tinley Park and later served as a trustee, and the Village's first treasurer. A true civic servant, he would also serve as justice of the peace, postmaster, township clerk, and township assessor among other local governmental posts. His second wife, a widow, Mrs. Christina Andres, lived in the home until her death. Four generations of the Andres family and descendants lived in this home through 2005.

This house is included in the 1972 Illinois Historic Structures Survey for places of architectural interest and importance in Illinois communities over 500 in population conducted by the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency. It was also the recipient of the Society's Historical Preservation Award in 1985.
