The full height bridge of Valkenburg. This (final) phase is a reconstruction of a drawing by Jacob van Deventer from the year 1550. The small plateau on the Heunsberg expands strongly by filling in with rubble. In 1550, the cartographer Jacob van Deventer was commissioned by Emperor Charles V to draw the fortified town of Valkenburg. After careful measurements, he draws the impressive castle with its many massive towers and high stark walls with battlements and shooting slots. For centuries this imposing hight castle has dominated Valkenburg and the surrounding area. After the last destruction (with gunpowder) in 1672, the castle is never rebuilt. The current castle remains today represent the past glory of the once mighty Valkenburg Castle...
De voltallige hoogteburcht van Valkenburg. Deze (laatste) fase vormt een reconstructie van een tekening van Jacob van Deventer uit het jaar 1550. Door opvullingen met puin breidt het kleine plateau op de Heunsberg zich sterk uit. De cartograaf Jacob van Deventer krijgt in 1550 van Keizer Karel V de opdracht de vestigingsstad Valkenburg te tekenen. Na zorgvuldige metingen tekent hij het indrukwekkende kasteel met de vele, massieve torens en hoge grimmige muren met kantelen en schietsleuven. Eeuwenlang domineert deze imposante hoogteburcht Valkenburg en omgeving. Na de laatste verwoesting (met buskruit) in 1672 wordt het kasteel nooit meer opgebouwd. De huidige burchtresten representeren vandaag de dag de vergane glorie van het eens zo machtige Kasteel van Valkenburg...
Die Hochbrücke von Valkenburg. Diese (letzte) Phase ist eine Rekonstruktion einer Zeichnung von Jacob van Deventer aus dem Jahr 1550. Das kleine Plateau auf dem Heunsberg dehnt sich durch das Auffüllen mit Trümmern stark aus. 1550 wurde der Kartograf Jacob van Deventer von Kaiser Karl V. beauftragt, die befestigte Stadt Valkenburg zu zeichnen. Nach sorgfältigen Messungen zeichnet er die beeindruckende Burg mit ihren vielen massiven Türmen und hohen Mauern mit Zinnen und Schießplätzen. Diese imposante Hochburg dominiert seit Jahrhunderten Valkenburg und Umgebung. Nach der letzten Zerstörung (mit Schießpulver) im Jahr 1672 wird die Burg nie wieder aufgebaut. Die heutigen Burgreste repräsentieren heute den Glanz der einst mächtigen Burg Valkenburg....
