1. What Is Bungalow Heaven?. An excerpt from the Bungalow Heaven website:
The quiet tree-lined streets and lovely gardens of Bungalow Heaven are more than just a pretty neighborhood. The 16-block area, bordered by Orange Grove and Washington boulevards and Lake and Hill streets, is a historic gem set in the midst of Pasadena. Although the district includes residences from most periods of Pasadena’s history, the overwhelming majority of the homes are bungalows built during the Arts and Crafts period of the early 20th century.

Through the efforts of many dedicated residents who recognized the historic significance

2. Great Places in America: Neighborhoods. The American Planning Association dubbed Bungalow Heaven as one of the great places in America. Their article describes the history, character, and distinct architectural features of the neighborhood:

Coined by a city planner, the name reflects the abundance of one- and two-story Craftsman homes in the compact, six-block-by-six-block neighborhood. The first house dates to 1888, but most of the bungalows were built between 1905 and 1920. Mature street trees and front porches provide abundant shade and opportunities for people
