General Lewis Lawrence Griffin
This statue of General Lewis Lawrence Griffin business man, railroad man, state legislator, and general officer in the Georgia militia who founded Griffin, Georgia, on June 8, 1840, was erected and dedicated by the proud citizens of Griffin on November 23, 2008.
The statue was the inspiration of a small group of civic minded citizens selected by their peers for the honorary title of "General Griffin" to recognize and honor their years of volunteerism and contributions to the community.
It was sculpted by artist Andy Davis of McDonough, Georgia in 2008
