1. Deason Stonemason marker
Inscription. This site was originally the location of Deason Stonemason, where tombstones and other stone markers were made. When a large brick garage was built here to replace the old Huddleston Livery Stable, it was part of the automobile businesses that occupied this building until around 1961. Kittrell Chevrolet was the last dealership to occupy the square. In the 1960's a small section was walled off from the main building for a separate business. Bob and Pete's Chicken was one of the first occupants, followed by Bo Kay Florist, Farmhouse Florist and other retail businesses. In 2022, the wall was removed and the building became part of the original structure again. The small building around the corner behind 400 West Public Square was also originally part of this building.
