1. Huddleston Brothers Livery Building marker
Inscription. A few years after the Civil War, Huddleston Brothers built a livery stable here, replacing the original structure with a handsome brick building after the fire of 1883. In 1885, the brothers built a Ten-Pin Alley on the north side of the stable. Many Centerville residents kept their horses there and a hack service was provided for passengers arriving by train. The stable was sold to E.A. Dean and John Jones, and it was torn down in 1918. R.E. Shouse Motor Company opened around 1920, and Bogle and Black Motors also located here. Kittrell Chevrolet moved into the building next, remaining until 1965. Liberty Pharmacy made changes to the faηade when they moved to the building in 1967. The store remained until 2019, when it moved to a new location. The new owners renovated the space, restoring it to its original appearance.
