1. Simmons House Marker
Inscription. One of twin Neoclassical Revival style houses built as multifamily investment properties for William Whitehead (1867-1931); and wife, Lita Larkins (1907-1961). Purchased in 1946 by Byron Simmons (1896-1972), native of Busti, NY, painter; and wife, Frances Lewis (1896-1988), native of Fairmont, NC. The Simmons lived in the house while renting portions. Utilized as rental units until converted to single family in 2022.
