1. Former site of a livery stable Marker

Inscription. This site originally held a livery stable in the late 1880s. When the National Guard became a cavalry unit, they kept their horses there. In 1928 a service station was built which became a doctor's office, then a liquor store. B.C. Baker used the barn for his mule trading business in the 1930s. The site returned to use as an auto business in 1944 and was sold to Bratton and Thompson. Bratton tore the old building down in 1950 and built the current building for his Dodge dealership. When Bratton closed his dealership, it was purchased by Town of Centerville and became City Hall. When City Hall moved to a new building on East Swan Street in 1988, the building became the fire department headquarters. It was purchased by HCTN Properties 2 in 2020.
