Inscription.
After the building constructed for Barnwell and Woolard Department Store was divided, the east section was occupied by Harber Dry Goods in the early 1900's, followed by Coble Drug Store. A large apartment was located on the second floor. Emmett Thompson bought the building in 1960 and relocated the R.M. Clagett Insurance Agency here a few years later. The Clagett Agency was established in 1880 by Horatio Clagett and was previously on the second floor of the post office building. Dee Dee's 5 & 10 occupied the space in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Centerville Marketplace opened in the building in 2010 and remained until moving to Church Street in 2011, followed by Wild Duck Soup from 2012 to 2016. Count Your Blessings Children's Shop occupied the space in 2017. The building was sold and remodeled in 2019.
