During the 2nd Battle of Passchendaele (26 October 1917-10 November 1917), nine members of the Canadian Expeditionary Force (CEF) received the Victoria Cross (VC), the highest reward for bravery in view of an enemy. It was the largest number of Canadian VC's ever won in a single battle.
