1. Former Site of Milan Army Ammunition Plant Housing Area Marker

Inscription. Constructed in 1941, Milan Army Ammunition Plant Housing Area, better known as Area Q, served as base housing for assigned military personnel as well as selected supervisors and employees of the plant from 1941 to 2004. Styled in the classical revival domestic architecture, the thirty-two two-story, four and five bedroom homes housed thousands of residents overs its 64-year history. Its direct connection to World War II activities makes Area Q of historical significance to the history of the local community.
