1. Herod Hall Marker
Recognizing Northwestern as a vital part of the states higher education system, the Oklahoma Legislature in 1923 appropriated funds for a new campus building that became Herod Hall. Contract controversies delayed construction, which was completed in early 1925. In the years since, the building has undergone major interior renovations, and an addition was built on the west side. Housed here are the schools main auditorium and administrative offices. An educational landmark for this part of the state, the building was named in honor of E. A. Herod, long-time, early-day math professor.

Excerpt: Since 1924, the Herod Hall Auditorium on the Alva campus of Northwestern Oklahoma State University has served as the bedrock for performing arts in northwest Oklahoma. It is a visible, active and artistic centerpiece for the community.
