1. Camas Mill Millstone Marker
Inscription. The paper industry of the state of Washington had its beginning on May 5, 1885 in a mill located on the north bank of the Columbia River at Camas where this stone was used to grind wood logs into pulp. This Camas mill, a division of Crown Zellerbach Corporation, was the first western mill to make paper from wood fibre.
