Born Elkins, West Virginia, September 27, 1925. Died August 15, 2001, 2nd Team All State in football (guard) - 1941; 1st Team All State in football (guard) - 1942; 2nd Team All State in basketball - 1942; graduate of Elkins High School in 1943. Member of the United States Marine Corp - 1943 to 1946. Served during WW II in the Philippine Campaign. Attended Davis & Elkins College from 1946 tο 1949. Graduate of Davis & Elkins College - 1949. Outstanding performer on the Senators first post war football team, placing on the All Conference Eleven all three years. Served as team captain his senior year - 1949. Voted by the student body as most outstanding D & E senior - 1949. Named to the 50th anniversary all time West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference football team 1974. Inducted into Davis & Elkins College Athletic Hall of Fame 1978. Assistant coach to Frank C. Wimer at Elkins High School 1949-1954; coached 20 years at Elkins High School - 1954-1974; coaching records are as follows: 1954-1967 football W 70 L 50 - won
