Erected in commemoration of Alhambra’s First Centennial (1903 - 2003).

Dedicated to the memory of Alhambra's Founding Father Benjamin Davis Wilson (affectionately known as Don Benito) 1811 - 1878.

With multiple blueprints under his arm, the pioneering Benjamin Wilson, with his keen business sense and political aptitude, was instrumental in pursuing the development of early Alhambra. By subdividing his large estate into the first tracts of land sold to westward bound settlers. Wilson provided the groundwork for the eventual incorporation of the city of Alhambra.
