Regarding 1888 Telephone Employees. Information about "District Telegraph and Telephone," pictured in this photograph, could not be definitively determined. Most likely, it was one of the smaller communications companies that was later acquired by Pacific Telephone and Telegraph (Pac Bell), which managed AT&T's operations on the West Coast from 1906 until the company divested its "Baby Bells" in 1984.
