Inscription.  German:
Dieser ehemalige amerikanische"Sherman" Kampfpanzer wurde zum Beobachtungspanzer auf Truppenübungsplätzen umgebaut. In ihm konnten die Beobachter nahe an das Zielgebiet beim Scharfschießen heranfahren und durch Panzerglas geschützt, beobachten. Die auffällige Farbgebung diente dem Schutz der Besatzung.

English Translation:
This former American "Sherman" tank was converted into an observation tank on military training grounds. It allowed observers to drive close to the target area during live firing exercises and observe through armored glass for protection. The distinctive coloring was used to protect the crew.
