Padre de la Patria y Fundador de la República Forjador de la conciencia patriótica que permitió la instauración de la Patria libre, independiente y soberana, en 1844.

Nació en la ciudad de Santo Domingo, el 26 de enero de 1813 y falleció en Caracas, Venezuela el 15 de julio de 1876.

El Pueblo de Puerto Plata, el Instituto Duartiano, el Centro Duartiano de Puerto Plata, le rinden tributo permanente a su memoria.

English Translation:
Father of the Nation and Founder of the Republic, Shaper of the patriotic consciousness that allowed the establishment of the free, independent, and sovereign Homeland in 1844.

He was born in the city of Santo Domingo on January 26, 1813, and passed away in Caracas, Venezuela, on July 15, 1876.

The people of Puerto Plata, the Duartian Institute, and the Duartian Center of Puerto Plata pay permanent tribute to his memory.

in the modern Dominican Republic, who along with military generals Ramón Matías Mella and Francisco del Rosario Sánchez, organized and promoted La Trinitaria, a secret society that eventually led to the Dominican revolt and independence from Haitian rule in 1844 and the start of the Dominican War of Independence.
