Panoramische opname van de Duitse frontlijnen vanuit het Britse front op de hoogte van the Bluff (vooraan links). Deze foto is ongeveer vanuit deze locatie genomen op 26 mei 1915. Het landschap is nog weinig geschonden. Vanwege de hogere Britse positie werden de Duitse loopgraven afgeschermd met opgebouwde borstweringen om minder kwetsbaar te zijn.
De foto toont duidelijk de eerste en tweede frontlijn, verbindingsloopgraven, aanvalslijnen (sapheads), prikkeldraadversperringen en het niemandsland tussen beide fronten.

Le paysage est encore relativement intact. En raison de la position plus élevée des Britanniques, les tranchées allemandes ont été protégées par des garde-corps afin d'être moins vulnérables.

A panoramic view of the German front line as seen from the British positions near the Bluff (front left). The photograph was taken from approximately this location on 26 May 1915. The landscape is still relatively intact. Because the British held the higher ground at this point, the German trenches were protected by breastworks built up with sandbags.
The photograph clearly shows the first and second lines of trenches, the communication trenches, the sapheads, the barbed-wire entanglements and the no-man's-land that separated the British and German positions.
