Isidoro Rainieri y Bianca Franchescini De Rainieri «Doña Blanca», llegaron a Puerto Plata en 1898, desde Emilia-Romaña, Norte de Italia. La familia Rainieri operó uno de los hoteles celebres de nuestra historia reciente: el Hotel del Comercio, al que más tarde cambiaron su nombre a Hotel Europa. En 1904 se expandieron con la apertura de una sucursal en la ciudad de Santiago: El Hotel Rainieri, que estuvo abierto hasta la muerte de Don Isidoro en 1914.
El Hotel Europa fue considerado el mejor hotel del país en su época. Sobre dicho hotel, aparecen escritos en múltiples obras de extranjeros que visitaron el país a principios del siglo XX. Asimismo, cuenta la historia, que el almirante-comandante de las fuerzas navales norteamericanas para la fecha, hacia reservaciones para almorzar en el hotel de los Rainieri, famoso por su exquisita cava de vinos. El hotel es vendido a la muerte de Doña Bianca en 1946 dejando el nombre de la familia Rainieri Franchescini en nuestra historia como una familia pionera y propulsora del turismo en la República Dominicana.
Isidoro Rainieri and Bianca Franchescini De Rainieri «Doña Blanca», arrived in Puerto Plata in 1898, from Emilia-Romagna, Northern Italy. The Rainieri family operated one of the famous hotels in our recent history: the Hotel del Comercio, which later changed its name to Hotel Europa. In 1904 they expanded with the opening of a branch in the city of Santiago: The Rainieri Hotel, which was open until the death of Don Isidoro in 1914.
Hotel Europa was considered the best hotel in the country in its time. On this hotel, they appear written in multiple works of foreigners who visited the country at the beginning of the 20th century. It also tells the story, that the admiral-commander of the US naval forces to date, made reservations for lunch at the Rainieri hotel, famous for its exquisite wine cellar. The hotel is sold to the death of Doña Bianca in 1946 leaving the name of the Rainieri Franchescini family in our history as a pioneer family and tourism promoter in the Dominican Republic.
