September 1942 umkam.

at Sandeldamm 26 was owned by the Jewish merchant family Hirsch, partners in the Hanau clothing store Berger & Schmelzer on Nürnberger Strasse and the corner of Rosenstrasse. Friedrich Hirsch (1889 Wehrheim / Usingen - 1974 New York) was married to Dina Jüngster (1901 Tann - 1980 Los Angeles). Their daughter Ilse (1926 Hanau - 2016 Los Angeles) attended the high school for girls in Hanau, later the Philanthropin in Frankfurt am Main. Hirsch's shop and house were devastated by Nazi henchmen on Kristallnacht on November 10, 1938. The family fled to Frankfurt am Main, was able to emigrate to London in 1939, and moved to the USA in 1946. Friedrich's mother Jeanette, born on May 24, 1861 in Bendheim in Wehrheim, was deported from Frankfurt to the Theresienstadt ghetto on August 18, 1942, where she died on September 8, 1942.
