English Translation:
First Sword of the Restoration

Born in Puerto Plata on September 8, 1839, he dedicated his life to the freedom and prosperity of his homeland. He was president and, even more admirably, a plenipotentiary ambassador, uniting the island with Europe and the Antilles by forging commercial and knowledge-based ties.

He departed for the eternal East in 1897 in Puerto Plata, leaving behind a legacy of patriotic values.

To love the homeland is to serve and defend it, not to sell or betray it.
