The Broadway Performance Hall of Seattle Central Community College was constructed in 1911-12 as an addition to Broadway High School, to accommodate gymnasiums and auditorium/study hall. Restored and remodeled, it opened in 1979 as a theater, with attending classrooms, rehearsal and conference areas. Much Broadway High memorabilia is displayed in and around the building. Broadway High School, Broadway and Pine, opened in 1902. Seattles only high school at the time, it closed its doors as a high school in 1946, becoming Broadway Edison Vocational School, then Edison Technical School and finally Seattle Community College.
