1. Tolar-Bowles House Marker
Inscription. Craftsman style bungalow built for Erasmus Hiram Tolar (1876-1944), native of Cumberland County, NC, foreman, Wilmington Terminal and Warehouse Co.; and wife, Hattie Delk (1885-1917), native of Norfolk, VA. Purchased in 1952 by Howard Henry Bowles (1904-1982), native of Davie County, NC, district manager, Southern Life Insurance; and wife, Emma C. Dull (1909-1997), saleswoman for The Tot Shop. Remained in family until 1993.
