1. 1781 - Guilford Courthouse Flag Marker
Inscription. The flag was raised over the Guilford Courthouse, North Carolina (Greensboro) on March 15, 1781, the Battle of Guilford Courthouse. The battle was the largest and most hotly contested action in the American Revolution's southern theater and led to the surrender of British Lieutenant General Cornwallis at Yorktown.
