Welcome to the Go-Go Museum & Caf้.
Go-Go is Washington, D.C.'s "Official Music" genre created by Chuck Brown in the 1970s.
This museum, like go-go music is rooted in Call & Response. Come inside. Meet our heroes. See our fashion. Taste our food. Experience our music.
For the response, we need to hear from you. Tell us how our feel. Tell us what you think. Let's make go-go forever.

Our Story The Go-Go Museum & Caf้ is the official site for the appreciation and study of go-go music, history and culture from its headquarters in the historic Anacostia neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Go-go music is a brand of funk, R&B, hip-hop, and Afro-Latin rhythms created in the 1970s by "Godfather of Go-Go" Chuck Brown and his Washington D.C. fans. On February 19, 2020, Mayor Muriel Bowser signed DC law 23-71 Go-Go As Official Music of the District of Columbia Designation Act and selected the Go-Go Museum as a key site for its implementation in her Go-Go Peoples Plan.(Submitted on February 22, 2025, by Devry Becker Jones of Washington, District of Columbia.)
