1. The Danville/ Pittsylvania County Veterans Memorial Marker
Inscription. This memorial wall honors the veterans of Danville and Pittsylvania County, Virginia, who gave their lives in the defense of our nation in all of is conflicts from the American Revolutionary War to its current engagements. The names inscribed on its black granite stand as a testament to their valor, devotion, and ultimate sacrifice for the freedom of our country.

The circular brick walkway honors all veterans from near and far for their unselfish military service throughout our nation’s history.

The flags represent the United States of America, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and our Prisoners of War and the Missing in Action who never returned home. The benches are provided by those who recognize and honor the sacrifices of our veterans. They provide a place for rest, contemplation, reflection, and hope.
 
Erected 2005 by City of Danville and Pittsylvania County.
