History
In 1820 Joseph Antoine Agostini a merchant arrived in Curaçao. At that time this property was owned by an Irish man named Basden. Joseph Antoine Agostini married his only daughter and they lived together in one of the houses in the Kura. After the death of Mr. Basden, Agostini and his wife inherited the kura. The kura is named after this family. For several years the family Agostini lived in this house on the first floor together with their five children, four girls and one boy. In 1966 the Stichting Monumentenzorg Curaçao bought the Kura from Joseph Antoine Agostini's grandson, Jacques Ellis, who also lived on the kura, and restored the buildings. During restoration of de Rouvilleweg 9 in 1988, a tropical storm hit the island and destroyed the southern part of this building. When the building was restored in 1989 the arches on the first floor were added.

Several years later, another part was demolished for the construction of a pavement. The gallery on the first floor, formerly closed with windows, now consists of a series of new arches on short
