The Orlando Bank & Trust organized in 1906 and purchased the old First National Bank building. In 1923 the bank temporarily moved to allow construction of a 10-story building. This classically inspired skyscraper opened in 1924. In 1930, H.W. Metcalf bought the structure, which has been known since as the Metcalf Building.
